Samsung Galaxy S4: How to Fix Can't Forward a Text Message

Today, an insider asked me why he couldn't find the "forward" option when long pressing a text message in the stock Messaging app. He just had delete and copy text options. From what I know, the text messages forwarding feature is not available when we are in the easy mode. As we all know that the easy mode has simpler layout and disables some advanced features(including with the text messages forwarding feature) since it is designed for first smartphone users. Thus, if you want to be able to forward text messages, you have to use standard mode by disabling the easy mode.

How to disable the easy mode?
You can do so by using the following steps:
  1. While you're in the easy mode, swipe down the top of the screen using your finger to open up the notification panel and then tap at the top right to go to the easy settings menu.
  2. Tap Home screen mode .
  3. Select Standard mode and then tap Apply button.
  4. Tap OK button.
  5. The easy mode will be disabled and your phone will use the standard mode as the home screen mode.
  6. Now, you should find the forward option when long pressing a bubble message within a conversation in the stock Messaging app.

Samsung Galaxy S4: How to Block Unwanted or Unknown Text Messages in Android 4.4.2 Kitkat or in Android 5.0.1 Lollipop

Two days back, an insider named Kelly told me via email that she tried blocking messages by following my post about how to block unwanted text messages here but she couldn't find the spam settings in her stock Messaging app. Apparently, her phone runs with Android 4.4.2 Kitkat while that post is written based on my Samsung Galaxy S4 when it's still using Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. A couple days back, an insider named Francois sent me an email to ask me why S Voice hands free mode in his Samsung Galaxy S4 ran with Android 4.4.2 Kitkat automatically turned on by itself. It's quite annoying for him since he had to turn off S Voice hands free mode manually several times a day. After some further investigations, I figure out that S Voice hands free mode will be turned on automatically if we are connected to the Wi-Fi network or Bluetooth device that we, may have accidentally, set as the method to recognize location for the car profile within My places menu. Given to that fact, to stop S Voice hands free mode automatically turn on by itself, we have to set none as the method for the car profile within My places menu.

  7. Tap None and then tap OK button.
  8. Tap Save button to save the changes.

Samsung Galaxy S4: How to Turn Off Auto Correct in Android 4.4.2 Kitkat

For some users, enable the auto correct feature may be able to help them to type better because when they're entering text the device will give them some suggestion words to let them correcting or completing the word manually, even the user can set the device to complete or replace a word automatically with the most probable word when the space bar or a punctuation mark is touched. Unfortunately, for some others this feature is annoying since they don't want their words to be corrected or replaced by the device. Therefore if you also don't want to use this feature, then you can easily turn off auto correct feature so that you can type any word you want without having to worry your word will be corrected or replaced.

How to disable the auto correct feature?
You can do so by using one of the two following methods:

Method #1: From the settings menu
  1. On any screen, swipe down the top of the screen to open up the notification panel and then tap to go to the settings menu.
  2. Tap My device tab.
  3. Scroll down to the Language and input and then tap it.
  4. Tap next to Samsung keyboard to open up the Samsung keyboard settings.
  5. If you want to keep the device shows suggestion words but don't like the device replaces your word automatically, then you just need to turn off Auto replacement by sliding the ON/OFF switch next to this option to the left.
  6. If you want the device no longer displays the suggestion words, then you have to turn off Predictive text by sliding the ON/OFF switch next to this option to the left. FYI, it'll automatically disable Auto replacement too.

Method #2: While typing
You can quickly reach the Samsung keyboard settings from any app or screen where you can enter text. As the example, you can see the following steps to know how to turn off auto correct while composing a new text message in the Messaging app:
  1. Open Messaging app.
  2. Tap to compose a new text message.
  3. Tap the Enter message field to display the keyboard.
  4. Long tap the key in the left side of the space bar and then tap to go to the Samsung keyboard settings.

For the record, most of insiders who have sent their emails to me said that they would rather enabled the predictive text option without the auto replacement option because in some cases auto replacement often replaces the word with the wrong or unwanted word. So, how about you? Do you disable auto replacement only or with the predictive text as well?
