Samsung Galaxy SIII has come with some useful pre-loaded applications--you can said Messaging apps, Phone apps, Contacts apps, etc-- that you can use directly without having to install them first. But, as with other Android phone, the Samsung Galaxy SIII also allow you to install another apps, either from its official market or non-official sources.

1. Google Play Store App
This is the official market for all Android phone and you'll find this apps as one of the stock apps inside your phone. Here you can download and install either free or paid apps. To make you be able to access the Google Play Store and another Google services, make sure you have activated your Google account on your phone.

2. Samsung Store App
This is the second official market for Samsung phone and you'll also find this apps as one of the stock apps inside your phone. As same as the Play Store apps, this apps also provide you with a free or paid apps. Create your own Samsung account to allow you accessing Samsung Store app and another Samsung services.

3. Google Play Store Website
You may noticed that this way is similar with the first ways I've mentioned above. Yes, thanks to Google cloud-based system which will allow you to install apps remotely to your Android phone from Google Play Store website through your Computer or Laptop. This way of course will extend your convenient of searching and browsing the apps in the Play Store. All you need is login into the Google Play Store website using a Google account associated with your phone.

4. Sideloading Apps directly through the Phone
Aside from installing apps from the official market, you can also install apps from another sources, or users usually refer it as install .apk file. Apk is android packaging file or it's the same with .exe file in the Windows Operating System. This of course will useful if the apps you want to install is no longer available on the Play Store or Samsung Store, such as Adobe Flash Player. However, by default this option is disabled for security reasons. If you want to enable sideloading apps, you need to enable Unknown sources option that you can find under security settings. Once you've enabled this option, you can download a .apk file through your phone's browser apps then open it through the Download app to start installing. You can also download .apk file from your PC or laptop then copy the file to your phone and open it with the My Files app to start installing. This way also allow you to install from another third-party apps store, such as Amazon App Store, Humble Bundle Apps, and else.

5. Sideloading apps from PC
This way will allow you to install .apk file from the computer, with or without connecting your phone to the computer. AFAIK, the available option to do this way is by using ADB or use AirDroid app--tell me if you know the other ones--. If you use the ADB, you need to connect your phone to the computer by using USB cable and enable USB Debugging option on your phone. While if you use AirDroid app, you need to connect your phone and computer in the same network.

Samsung Galaxy S3: How to Use AirDroid App to Sideload Applications

Samsung Galaxy SIII allows the user to install applications from another sources outside the Google Play Store or Samsung Store by sideloading apps into the phone or users usually refer it as install .apk file. To make it works, first you should enable Unknown sources option under security settings. Once you've enabled this option, now you can download .apk file from your phone's browser app or transfer .apk file from your PC to your phone then open it with the File manager app available on your phone to start installing.

Well, there are another way that you can do to sideload apps into your phone, one of which is by using another third-party app called AirDroid app. This apps will allow you to upload and/or install .apk file to your phone without connecting your phone to the PC, as what you do if you use the ADB.


How to use AirDroid app to install .apk file?
Before you do these steps below, make sure your phone and your PC or laptop is connected with the same network. Well, let see the complete steps:
Do these steps below on your phone
  1. Download install AirDroid app from the Google Play Store.
  2. Once the process is completed, launch the apps.
  3. Tap Start button.
  4. AirDroid app will provide you an IP Address that you can use to access your phone through the browser on your PC or laptop. You'll also provided with a password that you can use to login into the web and prevent unauthorized access to your phone.
Do these steps below on your PC or laptop
  1. Open Internet Browser.
  2. Enter the IP Address provided by the AirDroid app into the address bar.
  3. Enter the password provided by the AirDroid app into the login field, then click Login button.
  4. Now you'll see AirDroid's Home screen which contain links and statistic of your phone.
  5. Click Apps icon to view all installed apps in your phone.
  6. Tap Install App button to upload a .apk file to your phone and install it.
Do these steps below on your phone
  1. Confirm the installation by tapping the option on your phone.
  2. Once the process is completed, now you are ready to enjoy your newly installed apps on your phone.

By knowing how to use AirDroid app to sideload apps, now you can install the apps--and do another things by utilizing this apps capabilities--from the browser on your PC or laptop easily even without connecting your phone.   1. Review of any installed apps in your device to know which one may have push ads. If you noticed that you start receive an ads after install certain apps, then this may the culprit. You can also read on the customer review of the apps you have installed to know the apps history, from there you may get some information to know whether the apps contains these ads or not.
  2. If the step #1 can't tell you what the apps causing the problem, then you can try to install another third-party apps to help you determine which the apps may have push ads included in it, such as Addons Detector apps.
  3. Once you've know the apps sending you the ads, then you may have to consider to uninstall the apps.
  4. For further prevention, don't reinstall the apps that you already know it has the ads included in it. Also you can leave a review to help other users knowing that the apps has the ads included in it.

  4. Another way, if you no longer use the apps that displaying the ads then you may have to consider to uninstall the apps. This will be able to not only stop the apps displaying the ads, but also will be able to free up some space on your phone's storage.

  4. Clear apps cache and data regularly to reduce memory use and keep the apps work properly.

  5. Always close the apps by using the Back key instead of the Home key. Closing apps using the Home key will put the apps under standby mode which will stay consume memory. Another way to do so is by pressing and holding the Home key then tap the apps from the list and drag it to the right to close the apps individually or tap Clear all icon located at the bottom right to close all recent apps, Or you can also close the recent apps using task manager.
  6. Only use the default task manager provided by the Samsung, because installing another third-party task manager apps will interfere the OS works and later can cause problems.

Samsung Galaxy S3: How to Enable the Disabled Applications

Uninstall some unused apps is one thing that you can do to free up your phone's memory. Unfortunately, for certain apps you may be unable to uninstall them. In this case, disable apps is a methods that you should consider to do. This methods will causes the app hide from the menu list, not perform updates, can't run, can't use any resources and can't be called by other apps.

For the record, this methods is not the same with uninstall apps because the apps is still on the phone's memory so later you will be able to enable them again if you want to use them.


How to enable the disabled apps?
If you wants to enable the disabled apps, then kindly follow the steps listed below:
  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Tap Applications manager.
  3. Tap All tab.
  4. Scroll down to the bottom of the screen, usually the disabled apps will listed there and labelled as disabled.
  5. Tap the desired apps you want to enable.
  6. Tap Enable button.
  7. Finish. The apps has been enabled and the enable button will replaced with the disable button.

Once you've done these steps, now the apps will be shown in the menu list and you will be able to use it again. This apps also will be able to be called by another apps and use any resources. So, hope this helps :)

Samsung Galaxy S3: How to Disable Applications

There are some methods that you can do with your Samsung Galaxy SIII to free up some space to keep the device runs smoothly as it used to be, such as uninstall unused applications.

Unfortunately, there are some built-in apps or other apps that can't be uninstalled. The worst part of this is you may not use them but they're still running in the background and eat some space on your phone. Due to this reason, you may have to consider to disable this kind of apps to free up some space and get rid them from the apps list, moreover you can do this steps without having to root the phone.


How to disable apps?
For your note, please do this steps only to disable user apps. Well, here are the steps to do:
  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Tap Application manager.
  3. Find the desired apps by swiping to the appropriate screen: Download, Running or All.
  4. Tap the desired application.
  5. If the apps was updated, first you have to uninstall the update in order to be able to disable it by tapping Uninstall updates button.
  6. Tap OK button to confirm uninstalling updates.
  7. Once the uninstall process is completed, the apps will reset back to its original condition and you'll be taken back to the Application manager.
  8. Tap OK button in confirmation windows.
  9. Tap again in the apps you wish to disable.
  10. Tap Disable button to disable apps.
  11. Tap OK button to confirm disabling apps.
  12. The apps has been disabled.

Once you've done the steps, you'll notice that the disable button was replaced with the enable button. Now the apps will no longer listed on the apps menu, not perform updates and any RAM used by this apps is now available. FYI, this steps only disable the apps not uninstall the apps so the apps is still on the device memory and you're able to enable this apps again later. Google Play Store is the official market for Android phone, including Samsung Galaxy SIII. Here you can download and install the desired apps that suit your needs. First, you need to activate you Google account in order to make you be able accessing this services.

How to automatically update certain apps?
Below are the steps to do so:
  1. Open Google Play Store
  2. Tap the Menu key then select My apps.
  3. Tap the desired apps.
  4. Tick the box next to "Allow automatic updating" option to enable this option.
  5. Tap Home button to return to the standby mode.

Samsung Galaxy S3: How to Clear Applications Cache and Data

Everybody should be agree that Samsung Galaxy SIII is a great Android-based smartphone that comes with lot of abilities and features. But, it doesn't mean that this phone will not experience the problem. The phone's uses and its age surely will lower its performance. Luckily, there are some methods that you can do to tweak this phone to be feels faster, such as using SwypePad or replace the default launcher, etc.

The same thing also could happen with the application you already installed. If you feels the application runs more slower and heavier than usual when you use it, then you can tweak it by clearing the applications cache and/or data to make the application runs as fast as usual.

Some of user also said that they were managed to solve some software problems by clearing the application cache and data. Well, below are the complete steps to do so:
  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Tap Applications manager.
  3. Find the application you wish to clear its cache and/or data by swiping the screen to appropriate screen: Downloaded, Running or All.
  4. Tap the desired apps.
  5. Tap Clear cache button then tap OK button to confirm clearing the applications cache.
  6. Tap Clear data button then tap OK button to confirm clearing the applications data.
  7. Tap Home button to return to the standby mode.

For the record, if you clearing the data of certain apps then any data stored in that app will lost, such as settings, login information, and saved games. So, if the problem was solved by clearing the cache, then you don't need to perform clearing the applications data. So, hope this helps :)

Now, I'll write about the basic steps to do to access application in this phone. Well, accessing installed application, either the stock application or not is a basic knowledge about using Samsung Galaxy SIII. For some of you may have known well about it, but for some another it may something new or little bit difficult for them to do.


How to access installed apps?
Here are the steps to do so:
  1. From your Home screen, tap Apps icon to access the application list. This icon usually located at the bottom right corner of the screen.
  2. Swipe the screen to the right or to the left to go to another applications list screen, or you can go to another screen by tapping the dots at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Tap the application you wish to use.
  4. Tap the Back key to return to the previous screen or tap Home key to return to the Home screen.
  5. To access recently used apps, tap and hold the Home key then tap the required apps to access them.

Due to this is a basic steps, then I'll dedicate this post specifically for those of you who are still new with this phone. So, hope this will bring you something useful :)

1. Add the shortcut of the apps to the Home screen.
Adding your favourites apps shortcut on Home screen of course will make you more easier and faster to access the apps. You don't need to go to the application list, simply tapping the apps shortcut on the Home screen and the apps will launch.

2. Change the default app on the bottom dock of the Home screen.
By default, there are usually four icon of the most frequently used apps available in the bottom of the Home screen. If you don't want one of them to be there, then you can delete it and use the blank spot there to add the new apps that you wish to be there.

3. Change the default apps shortcuts on lock screen.
As with the default apps in the bottom of the Home screen, you can also do this with the apps icon on the lock screen. You can change one or more of them with your favourites apps. By doing this, you can access your favourites apps easily even when your phone is locked.

Well, these three methods surely will be able to facilitate you accessing your favourites apps. Samsung Galaxy S3: How to Sort Applications on App Drawer

There are so many things that you can do while you on app drawer on your Samsung Galaxy SIII. One of them is you can hide certain apps in order to make another person don't know that this apps is running on your phone.

One more thing you can do while on app drawer is customizing its layout. You can choose which view type you wish to use to sort the apps on the app drawer.


How to sort apps on app drawer?
Here are the steps you need to do to sort the apps:
  1. Go to Apps through Home screen.
  2. Tap the Menu key.
  3. On pop up menu select View type.
  4. Now you will see three options available. They are:
    • Customizable grid: By default, your phone was set to this option. If you choose this option then you will be able to view your apps in 4x5 grid layout and you can arrange your apps as you like.
    • Alphabetical grid: If you select this option then you will be able to view your apps in 4x5 grid layout which is organized alphabetically.
    • Alphabetical grid: If you select this option then you will be able to view your apps in a vertical scrolling which is organized alphabetically. This view type also features a letter list to facilitate you when you want to jump to apps that begin with the letter you touch.
  5. Select the view type you want to use. When the dot indicator next to the option shows green means the option is selected.
  6. Now your apps will be sorted according to the view type you've just selected.
  7. Tap the Home button to return to the standby mode.

Customizing the apps layout on the app drawer with the view type which best suits you will make you more easier when you want to use them. So, what the view type you use on your app drawer?

One of the advantages when you use Android-based smartphones such as the Samsung Galaxy SIII is you can download hundreds of useful apps both free and paid easily through the Play Store.   1. Go to Apps through Home screen.
  2. Scroll to Play Store, then tap on it.
  3. On Play Store homepage, tap the search icon.
  4. In the search field type Twitter then tap search icon to start the search.
  5. On the result page, tap Twitter.
  6. Tap Install button.
  7. Tap Accept&download button.
  8. Wait for the download and installation process is complete.
  9. Finish. Now Twitter apps has been successfully installed on your phone.

How to use Twitter?
From the same source, after you successfully installing this apps on your phone, then following the steps below to use it:
  1. Go to Apps through Home screen.
  2. Scroll to Twitter, then tap on it.
  3. Since this is the first time you use Twitter on your phone, then you must first log on by entering your Twitter's username and password then press the Sign in button.
  4. If you do not already have a Twitter account, you can register by filling in the Full name, email and password then press Sign up for Twitter button. This email and password that you will use later to log on into the application.

How to use Youtube?
To be able to use Youtube, make sure you already have a Google account. As written on vodafone.co.uk, here are the steps to use Youtube on Galaxy SIII:
  1. To access Youtube go to Apps through Home screen then tap on Youtube.
  2. Use your Google account to login into Youtube. If you have logged into another Google services such as Gmail, then you will be automatically logged on in Youtube. If not, you can log in manually by tapping on Accounts then tap the required account. Press Home button to return to the homepage.
  3. To play a video clip tap on the required video clip. Press the Return key to go back.
  4. To search video, here are the steps:
    • Tap the search icon.
    • In the search field, enter the search term or required search words then tap the search icon.
    • Tap the required video clip.
    • To return to the homepage, press the Return key several times.
  5. You can also add a video as a favorite by tapping the add icon when you play the video and then select Favourites. Press the Return key several times to return to the homepage.
  6. To upload a video, here are the steps:
    • Tap Account.
    • Tap the upload icon.
