Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge: How to Use Filter Effects in Camera App in Android 5.1.1 Lollipop

By default, the Camera app in your Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge uses auto as the shooting mode and applies no filter effect when you use it to take photos. But, when needed, you can apply a filter effect available in this app to your photo so you can have a unique and artistic photo.

How to use filter effects in the Camera app?
You can apply a filter effect to your photo by using the following steps:
  1. Open the Camera app. If the quick launch feature is enabled, you can quickly launch the Camera app from any screen by pressing the Home key twice in quick succession.
  2. Aim the camera to the object.
  3. Tap to view all available filter effects.
  4. Select the required filter effect you want to use from the following option:
    • No effect. This option is selected by default.
    • Vignette
    • Vintage
    • Faded colour
    • Greyscale
    • Tint
    • Cartoon
    • Moody
    • Download. Use this option if you want to download other filter effects from the Galaxy Apps and then apply it into your photo.
FYI, you'll be provided with the live preview when viewing all filter effects so you can see how your photo might look like when an effect is applied.
  5. When needed, you can change the focus by tapping the image on the screen where the camera should focus.
  6. Tap to take a photo.
  7. Tap the preview thumbnail to view the photo in full screen view in the Gallery app.
