Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge: How to Enable, Use and Disable Ultra Power Saving Mode in Android 5.1.1 Lollipop

Ultra power saving mode is an enhanced power saving mode that can be used to extend your battery power so you can use your phone longer, even when the battery level is low. When ultra power saving mode is enabled, your phone will save battery power by changing the color of the screen to grayscale, applying a simplified home screen, restricting app usage to only essential and selected apps, turning off mobile data when the screen is off, turning off connectivity features, etc.


How to enable ultra power saving mode?
You can turn on this feature by using the following steps:
  1. Swipe down the top of the screen to open up the notification panel and then tap at the top right to go to the settings menu.
  2. Scroll down to the System section and then tap Battery.
  3. Tap Ultra power saving mode.
  4. Slide the ON/OFF switch to the right to enable ultra power saving mode.
  5. Ultra power saving mode will be enabled.


How to use ultra power saving mode?
When you're in ultra power saving mode, you can do the following actions:
  1. Add apps to the home screen.
    By default, you're provided with three essential apps in the home screen(they're likely: Internet app, Messages app and Phone app). But, when needed you can add up to 3 apps to the home screen by using these steps:
    • Tap .
    • Select the required app.
    • The selected app will be added to the home screen.
  2. Remove apps that have been added by you from the home screen.
    When needed, you can remove unused or unwanted apps from the home screen by using these steps:
    • Tap More at the top right and then select Remove.
    • Tap at the required apps you want to remove.
    • Tap OK button.
    • The selected apps will be removed from the home screen
  3. Using apps.
    You can use apps in the home screen, either default apps or those selected by you. But, some options or features in those apps may not available in order to extend the battery power.
  4. Adjust the settings.
    When needed, you can adjust the settings of your phone by using these steps:
    • Tap More at the top right and then select Settings.
    • Here you can adjust the required settings, e.g., turn on or off Wi-Fi, turn on or off Bluetooth, turn on or off airplane mode, turn on or off mobile networks, turn on or off location, adjust the device's volume and vibration, and adjust the screen brightness.
  5. View the battery power information.
    The information of your battery percentage and estimated usage time remaining will be displayed at the bottom of the home screen. This will show you how many days or hours your battery will run out when your phone is in standby mode.


How to disable ultra power saving mode?
You can turn off this feature by using the following steps:
  1. Tap More at the top right and then select Turn off ultra power saving mode.
  2. Ultra power saving mode will be disabled.
