Samsung Galaxy S5: How to Manage Categories in Memo App in Android 5.0.1 Lollipop

If you don't change the category when composing a new memo in Memo app, the memo will be placed in the My memos category by default. Fortunately, you're allowed to do some actions to manage categories in this app, e.g: create new categories so that you can classify your memos based on its category for easier access, delete existing categories so that you can clean up Memo app from unused categories, and rename existing categories so that you can give new or proper names for your existing categories.

How to add, delete or rename a category in Memo app?
You can do so by using the following steps:
  1. Open Memo app.
  2. Tap at the top left corner of the screen to open up the Memo app menus.
  3. Tap Manage categories. To add a new category go to the step #4, to delete an existing category go to the step #5, while to rename an existing category go to the step #6.
  4. Add a new category:
    • Tap at the top right corner of the screen to add a new category.
    • Enter the category name. It'd better if you assign a proper name for the category so that it can describe all memos within it. As the example, you can create "works" as the new category and then place all memos related with your work in this category.
    • Tap OK button.
    • The new category has been added.
  5. Delete an existing category:
    • Tap next to the required category you want to delete to.
    • Tap Delete button to confirm.
    • The selected category has been deleted. As a note, deleting a category won't delete memos within it as they will be moved automatically to the My memos category.
  6. Rename an existing category:
    • Long tap the required category you want to rename to.
    • Enter the new name for the selected category.
    • Tap Rename button.
    • The selected category has been renamed.
