Samsung Galaxy S5: How to Keep Wi-Fi Stays On During Sleep in Android 4.4.2 Kitkat

For some reason, you may need to keep connecting your phone to Wi-Fi network so that you can stay connected to the internet without having to be interrupted or disconnected each time the phone goes to sleep. If that so, you need to set the Wi-Fi sleep option to always connect to Wi-Fi network even when the screen is off.

How to keep Wi-Fi remains on during sleep?
You can do so by using the following steps:
  1. On any screen, swipe down the top of the screen to open up the notification panel and then tap to go to the settings menu.
  2. With the settings menu is displayed in grid view, scroll down to the Network connections section and then tap Wi-Fi .
  3. If the Wi-Fi is off, tap the ON/OFF switch to turn it on.
  4. Tap or long press the Recent apps key to open up the additional option and then select Advanced.
  5. Tap Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep and then select Always.
  6. Now, unless you turn off the Wi-Fi connection manually, your phone will continue connecting to Wi-Fi network even when the screen is off.

As a note, install a third-party power saver app or battery saver app can disconnect the Wi-Fi connection automatically even when you have set your phone to always keep Wi-Fi on during sleep. Thus, uninstall the app should be able to fix this issue.
