Samsung Galaxy S3: How to Clear Cache of All Applications on Android 4.3

Clear cache is one of the most common solution done by the users when they're experiencing some problems with certain app. For instance, when you feels the Browser app on your phone become more slower and heavier than before, then clearing its cache might will be one of the solution you have to try to fix this problem.

In the latest update Android 4.3, you can perform clear cache in two different methods through the Settings menu. The one is clear cache through the application manager menu which is the common methods done in the previous Android version. The second is clear cache through the storage menu. What's makes the different between both of the methods is the second method will allow you to clear cache for all apps in a single time.


How to clear all apps cache on Android 4.3?
For any reason, if you decide to clear all apps cache on the phone, then below are the steps to do so:
  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Tap More.
  3. Tap Storage.
  4. Find Cached data, then tap the row.
  5. Now, you'll be prompted to choose either to clear cached data or not.
  6. Tap OK button to clear all apps cache.
  7. Caches in all apps will be cleared.

One of the possible reason why clear all apps cache option is now reside in the storage menu is may be it's designed to make the user more easier to clear all apps cache when they're checking the available storage and wants to free up some space as well as fixed some problems experienced by the app due to lot of cache stored.   1. I did exactly what you said. When I hit clear cache data and then ok, I get a message saying security policy restricts the clearing of this apps data. Any suggestions

      Thanks for coming.
      Try to take a look whether the Samsung KNOX is enabled on your phone. If so, try to disable or uninstall it and then see whether it helps :)

      Yes, you're right. In some cases, the phone needs to be restarted to fix the problem after you have finished clearing the cache, but some others don't.

  2. I have Knox notification manager, knox vpn services, and Knox store. None of which have any options other than "force stop". Which I tried. But it still said "this apps security policy restricts the clearing of cache" or whatever.

    1. I had the same problem, nothing I did helped to fix the problem. I decided to download an app called App Cache Cleaner. The app clears all cache and junk files, for now this will have to do. Maybe it will help you.
